Remember when dances were a popular weekly event? When you could find a live band or DJ close to home and kick-up your heels and hang out with friends? Why not take the past to the present?
Make your way to Great River Road to the scenic area of Clayton County for the Guttenberg Fire Department's annual Fireman’s Dance on Saturday, March 30th from 7 to 11 pm at the historic Lakeside Ballroom.
Spend a fun-filled day exploring the small riverfront town. With spring just around the corner, the weather is (finally) starting to warm up. Start your day off with the breathtaking views along the mighty Mississippi River and breathe in the fresh cool air while you stroll along the two-mile-long Riverwalk.
Guttenberg has many points of interest for people of any age. There are TWO Arts and Culture attractions: the Guttenberg Gallery and Creativity Center and Bent Willow Studio and Gallery. Do you like to shop? Check out Kann Imports, Blooming Branches, Ideal Decorating, and Heaven’s Hill Antiques and More.
When hunger strikes, have a delicious and satisfying meal one of the town's top restaurants, including The Picket Fence Café, Kaffee 1858 and Public House, Stadium Bar and Grill, or Reed's Steakhouse.
Before you know it, it'll be time to kick the dust up on the old ballroom dance floor. Have a few adult beverages and chat it up with friends. As the evening comes to a close, sway to the soft music and add another memory of dancing the night away.
