Alta became the location of the White House Cupcakery in the fall of 2013. The best part about White House? This one has nothing to do with politics. Here, it's all about the cupcakes. White House 220 Cupcakery owner, Peg Hinkeldey, has created a space that is perfect for a cup of coffee in the morning. It's also a great spot for having a party in the roomy backyard with a glass of Iowa wine, or a fun night of painting canvases with your best friend. Of course, delicious cupcakes are made to complement any of these lovely events. With literally hundreds of different flavors of cupcakes, customers are always thrilled to see what exciting new flavors Hinkeldey will come up with next.
White House is definitely worth the trip on a Friday or Saturday morning to try a cupcake first hand, and visit with Peg. Check out just some of the delicious cupcakes and the gorgeous location on Alta's Main Street on this episode of Small Town Eats and Yummy Treats.
Small Town Eats and Yummy Treats is a four-part mini web series visiting four different eateries in Iowa.
