Sioux City After School Art Program: Creative Exploration & Fine Arts Education

In my opinion, there's a creative side in every child that needs to be encouraged. The Kinsey Elementary and Sioux Center Middle School have implemented a new after school art program to help their students explore their artistic side.

Sioux Center Arts Director Suzie Doubet-Schuld led the way for the after-school art class so that students who love art could find a way to express themselves.

The first session commenced on January 16th with art teacher Courtney Dolieslager. Art teacher Jessica Hofstra led the second-week art session.

Dolieslager was very satisfied with the after-school art session and said that the 15 third and fourth-graders were pretty engrossed in the program and well-behaved. Currently, the second class has 22 students, and they are continuing to grow by the number. The program is proving to be quite successful and is taking a life of its own.

A single class is conducted every week, wherein a student has free time to create or explore various formats. A student may practice hands-on self-exploration of art concepts, build objects or seek assistance in drawing or painting among different other forms. So, students can have fun while experimenting with a wide range of art mediums and materials.

Students will learn about basic art concepts and techniques as well as about famous artists and their work. They will learn to implement the same methods used by the artists being studied and will benefit by expanding upon their repertoire of skills.

Kids can enhance many skills through art including creativity, focus, confidence, dedication, analytical/problem-solving, etc.

Doubet-Schuld was consulting various after-school programs during her meetings with the board of directors for Illinois After-School Network. She was doing so with the motive to provide enriching opportunities for children to explore various interests across arts, crafts, cooking, science, recreational sports, homework help, etc.

She wanted to implement the after-school arts program because there are sports activities and theater programs after school, but not much for students who are artistically inclined. So, let your child experience the perfect blend of creative exploration and fine arts education.

Arts is a very interesting field and everyone is not creative and multi-talented for this work. It needs lots of skills and knowledge for making any art projects. Well, those children want to learn the art skills during the summer vacation so they must go there summer camps there are teaching about the artwork and they can also take assistance with website which is also giving the best assistance for any kind of academic work.
