Rock-n-Roll on the River = A Real Sock Hop

Dust off your blue suede shoes, turn back the clock, get ready to enjoy some live music, and make this night like a real sock hop! Guttenberg's Rock-n-Roll on the River is *the* place-to-be on April 13th. Located at the historic Lakeside Ballroom, this is a night you won't forget. Doors open at 5 pm, and music is from 7 to 11 pm.

I don't know about you, but just the thought is reminding me of the full poodle skirts, lettermen sweaters, and black leather jackets that were all that rad. Or the times that teens would gather around the brightly colored juke-box that spun the black vinyl records with the most popular tunes of Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Buddy Holly. Well, let’s get the old clothes out of the closet and reminisce to days gone by. Do you still have the moves to dance the hop or hand-jive?

If so, get ready to dance the night away with live music by “The Hotrods”.  “The Hotrods” put on a fantastic show, performing all the top hits of the rock-n-roll era. They have been the opening band for 10 years for “The Diamonds” at Mississippi Valley Fair. It will be a blast of a time in Clayton County.

Come early to get a bite to eat. The Lakeside Ballroom serves delicious food.

And don't forget to participate in the costume contest and dance. There is more than $500 in door prizes. You may just win!
