New Eatery Opens in Dubuque

The Joy Cafe opened earlier this month near one of the busiest intersections in Dubuque! Co-owned by Joyce and Robert Bockelman, the restaurant is located at 2255 John F. Kennedy Road.

For Joyce and Robert, inspiration arose during a warm holiday moment when the couple was trying to find a name for the cafe. They settled on the moniker when Joyce saw the word ‘Joy’ on a Christmas tree.

The cafe occupies the space that was previously home to Wingstop. Robert and Joyce have decided to carry the tradition of serving wings in addition to various other items on their menu.

One of the most popular items is Italian beef sandwich, and a Chicago-style hot dog will be added very soon.

The restaurant is dedicated to serving delicious meals that are both sumptuous and healthy. A few of the items on the breakfast menu include health bowl with acai, smoothies, and a soon-to-be-added vegan sandwich.

The Joy Cafe marks the first time the couple has ventured into restaurant ownership. Their experience working in other restaurants led them to make this choice.

The couple worked hard to give the cafe its unique retro 60’s and 70’s style decor. Customers have taken to the restaurant quite well since its opening. Robert and Joyce are taking a hands-on with the running of the restaurant, which is open from 8 am to 8 pm every day of the week.

The Boulders Inn & Suites is the new place to stay for travelers in Manchester

A new hotel called Boulders Inn & Suites has opened at 1210 Commercial Court in Manchester. Cobblestone Hotels undertook the venture and built 32 rooms along with a wide range of amenities which include a fitness center and dining area.

The family-centric facility is a perfect fit for the upscale community of Manchester, says General Manager Kelly Niles. The new hotel has been made to cater to the growing demand for hospitality venues since it experienced a significant rise in tourism and business travels. It is partly due to the Manchester Whitewater Park, which opened in 2015.
