In search of some fun this Memorial Day weekend? Come to Northeast Iowa! Whether you want to make it a day or a whole weekend, there’s plenty to do here for people of all ages.
Clayton County offers you breathtaking sites of the rocky limestone bluffs and rolling emerald green hills. Take a drive on the River Bluffs Scenic Byway or the Great River Road along the mighty Mississippi River. Both roads will lead you to the small riverfront towns of Marquette and McGregor.
For all you shoppers out there: May 25th - May 28th will be a dream come true in Northeast Iowa. There will be a Flea Market under the bridge in Marquette and an Arts and Craft Festival in McGregor at Triangle Park. Let the picker in you come out this Memorial Day weekend! You never know what you may find when you're browsing around. You just might find a one-of-a-kind item.
When hunger strikes, head on over to a local restaurant. If you're craving American cuisine or mouthwatering barbeque, you've got to try Backwoods Bar and Grill. Its finger lick in’ good.
Or in search of something south of the border? Add a little spice to your day at Latinos Mexican Restaurant. The Old Man River Restaurant and Brewery is another fantastic option to consider. Plus, there will be food stands around the area.
If you're into history or camping, the museums, parks, and campgrounds will be open throughout Clayton County. Check out the Clayton County Development Group website for more information.
