Horse riding is a popular summer vacation activity that all the family can enjoy. If you’re planning on spending some time in Polk County this year, why not take a trip to Jester Park Equestrian Center?
Jester Park Equestrian Center was opened in 1998 and is a public equine facility offering many activities for horse-lovers all year round. During the summer months, you can enjoy guided trail riding (riders must be eight years old and above), on one of the center’s experienced horses. Ride around Saylorville Lake and look out for the wildlife that makes its home there. In the autumn months, a family wagon ride is a wonderful experience; watch out for deer and enjoy the beautiful colors of Iowa's autumn leaves.
Wintertime brings the snow but the fun doesn’t stop! Santa is always around waiting to meet the kids, and you can even enjoy a traditional sleigh ride followed by a steaming mug of hot chocolate and s'mores to round off your day. When spring arrives, there are pony rides, kids’ birthday parties and riding lessons for the whole family.
And don’t worry about equipment; you’ll be provided with a safety hat as appropriate. Choose suitable clothing for the weather on the day of your visit. If you’re riding, you’ll be most comfortable in leggings or stretchy pants and you should wear shoes or boots with a small heel.
Jester Park Equestrian Center offers a truly memorable holiday experience for all your family!
