Great River Maple is a family-owned business that takes pride in making high-quality sweet certified organic maple syrup. That is never compromised by blending the maple syrup. With just one taste, you can tell the difference.
In the cold winter weather, the making of syrup begins, with 7,000 maples tree to tap in the rough wood truck. Lines will be hung from the trees catching the sap. The thick sap will slowly flow into a large stainless steel tank. Then excess water will be boiled down from sap in a stainless steel LP evaporator, turning the sap into the golden brown syrup we all love. It takes 40 parts of maple sap to make 1 part maple syrup. This process may be long, but the deliciously sweet goodness is worth every hour it takes.
Great River Maple has more than just syrup. They also offer customers maple cream, maple sugar, cinnamon infused maple syrup, and bourbon for the adults.
Come to visit Great River Maple! They also attend the Tulip Festival in Pella, Farmer’s Markets, World Food Fest, and the State Fair in Des Moines.
It’s sweet all the time at Great River Maple!
