Help Us "Wine About Winter" With Our Annual Wine Walk!

The weather is turning colder, the days are getting shorter, and it's the time of year to start thinking about family gatherings for the holidays.  It's a great time to sit around and relax with family, but it seems like there is an EXTRA level of stress as the holiday season hits.  From cooking family dinners to picking out the perfect gift for your favorite people, you need a way to just shut your mind off and have a great night of fun with friends or your significant other.

Osceola Chamber Main Street can help give you that night off with our annual "Let's Wine About Winter" Wine Walk in downtown Osceola.  This is a great event that promotes buying local for the holiday season as well as gives you a night off from all of the stress and planning you have to do over the next couple of months.  Whether it's a ladies night out with friends or a couples night out with your special someone, the Wine Walk is geared for you!

On Friday, November 4th, the Wine Walk will start at 115 E. Washington Street, the Osceola Chamber Main Street office.  Please enter on the east side of the building at the back door.  The Wine Walk will start at 5:30pm, but registration will start at 5pm.  So if you get there early, you can get your ID checked, your wristband in place, and get your punchcard/map and commemorative wine glass.

Wines will not be served at any businesses until 5:30pm, but this means you can check out some of your favorite stores while you wait, getting some great ideas for holiday shopping.  Even if you aren't planning on buying that night, make a note of what you saw and where you saw it, and come back when you have more time to browse!

Your punchcard/map will show you which businesses are participating as well as which wine or beer they are serving.  That's right!  We will have some beers on hand as well, so make sure the guy in your life knows about the event too!  At each location where they are serving (not all will have alcohol, but will have snacks instead), you will give the server your wine glass and punch card.  They will punch the card, rinse your glass, and serve you the wine or beer in the establishment.  If you don't like it, dump buckets will be provided.  Please note that your glass MUST be empty before you leave each business.

This event goes until 8pm so you have a lot of time to look at the stores, taste the different beverages, and have a great night out with your friends. Curious about the businesses we have at the event?  Here is the list with links to the different locations through their Facebook pages.

Chat Mobility; Southern Iowa Saddle Shop; Ellensohn Chiropractic; Clarke County State Bank; Timber Ridge Country Market; Clark's Furniture; H&R Block; Relics; The Iron Horse Neighborhood Grill; Stoney Oak Properties; Earth Angels; Homestead Assisted Living; Altec; Professional Physical Therapy Services; Clarke County Chiropractic; American Family Insurance: Katie Turner; and the Clarke County Animal Shelter

You can check them out in advance as well to see what they might have to offer you.  And it's NOT just downtown businesses.  Any business can participate and we will help them find a downtown location to set up in.  We want this to be a fun and easy event for everyone, including the businesses!

Advance tickets can be purchased at the Osceola Chamber Main Street office until 4pm on Thursday, November 3rd.  Advance tickets are $15 and you need to bring your ticket the night of the event, along with photo ID.  Tickets purchased after 4pm on November 3rd are $20.

This is JUST the event you need to get yourself relaxed and ready for the holiday season, so we hope to see you there!
