Firefly Country Nights will return to Ames Main Street Cultural District Sunday, July 17 staring Brothers Osborne, and featuring Nashville recording artists Adley Stump, Forgotten Highway, and Diana Upton-Hill, along with local favorite, Danny Grause. Gates will open at 2 p.m.
“Brothers Osborne is a rising star in the country music world and we are very lucky to have this group play right in downtown Ames,” said Cindy Hicks, Executive Director of the Main Street Cultural District. “But on top of that, we have four fabulous opening acts. This is not your ordinary country concert!”
Brothers Osborne is made of up siblings John and T.J. Osborne. The duo was nominated this year for a Grammy Award and two Academy of Country Music Awards for their top 10 single “Stay a Little Longer.” Their newest single, “21 Summer,” was just released on February 29, 2016. This dynamic team released their debut single "Let's Go There" in late 2013 which reached Top 40 on Country Airplay. Their second single, "Rum", debuted in early 2014 and also reached Top 40 on Country Airplay.
This is the third year for Firefly Country Nights in downtown Ames. This country music festival is held outside much like a good old fashioned street dance. Along with great live country music there will be a variety of delicious food from street vendors and ice cold beer.
“Two of the opening acts, Adley Stump and Diana Upton-Hill, each just released new music videos in May, and Adley also won a Grammy award this year.” Hicks said. “This is your chance to see them up close before they become famous.”
Concert ticket holders can also purchase a chance to win a “front porch” experience. Two chairs, a table, and a cooler full of beer and water sitting right on the stage will be raffled off. Watch our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/FireflyCountryNight/ for more information on the raffle as it becomes available.
