With the varying Midwest weather—sun, rain and snow all in one week—there is one thing that is certain… March is here and it’s filled with tons of family fun in Northeast Iowa!
The month of March can bring a lot of different things, but you can always count on St. Patrick’s Day for a good time.
Elkader, in Clayton County, is hosting their 25th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration on Friday March 17, 2017! The fun starts at 4:00 p.m. with children’s activities at the Elkader Public Library. The parade kicks off at 5:15 p.m. and will party its way through Elkader’s Main Street. The party moves on down to Johnson’s Reception Hall, 916 High St. NE, immediately following the parade. Dance and sing the night away (remember it’s a Friday!!) with music provided by Father Paul Peters. Whether you’re Irish or not, this celebration will have you up moving and grooving.
Stay in the beautiful Clayton County the whole weekend and visit Eagles Landing Winery in Marquette along the mighty Mississippi River on March 18 and 19 for their Leapin’ Leprechauns wine tasting event! Sample their award winning wines including their wine-a-ritas. Be sure to pick a shamrock to win discounts!
While it may not be realistic to travel to Ireland this time of the year, head to Clayton County instead!
