Elkader's 4th Annual Music and Monarchs Festival

Do you remember when you were young, catching fuzzy, striped, orange and black caterpillars?

Did you ever hope those caterpillars would transform into butterflies before your eyes and fly away? Come spend a fun-filled family day at The 4th Annual Music and Monarchs Festival  May 11th and 12th on the banks of the Turkey River in Elkader! Learn more about the beautiful Monarch Butterfly and listen to great music while engaging in community.

I’m looking forward to a day full of fun outside in the fresh spring air with my nieces. What a great way to enjoy family time. I can just imagine the excitement of attending kids when they see the wildly colorful butterfly collection on display! They're sure to gaze on in wonder at the Monarch Butterfly life cycle and migration phenomenon. Face painting and temporary tattoos for the kids will be part of the fun.

Grab some tasty food from any one of the fantastic food vendors. Bring your lawn chairs and sit back relax and enjoy listening to Flash In A Pan. The kids can bounce to the rhythm of the strings as they sing along. Children can also secure a Milkweed plant to take home to plant. This weekend, join us in Elkader! The Monarch Butterfly Festival awaits you. Prepare to be enchanted.
