"Crawling" Through Clayton County On Farm Crawl

Enjoy a beautiful leisurely fall weekend “crawling” between eleven unique family farms and business in Clayton County Iowa. See how local families and businesses bring food from the farm to your table. Be part of the free Farm Crawl  Saturday, September 29th from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday, September 30th from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. It's a new kind of family time adventure in Northeast Iowa.

The Farm Crawl includes: animals, chemical-free produce, wine, beer, meat, eggs, & maple syrup.

Visit Saturday & Sunday: Experience the taste of award-winning beer at Elkader’s first licensed brewery in over a century. Deb grows over thirteen different varieties of hops for her one-of-a-kind beer

Visit Saturday & Sunday: A family-owned and operated the award-winning winery, produced by a nationally recognized winemaker Jay Halvorson. Enjoy a Free sample to find the perfect taste to light up your taste buds. Enjoy a glass of wine in the outdoor garden while taking in the picturesque scenic views.

Visit Saturday Only: A family owned USDA inspected locker that offers custom processing for over 35 years. Where you can purchase meat and cheese from the retail outlet at the local office, have a whole event catered or just pick up the meat for your event. They also process deer during deer season.                                                        

Visit Saturday & Sunday: Experience the way of life of your grandparents, including antique engines, tractors, and thrashing. Explore a one-room school, blacksmith shop, railroad depot, general store, and the 1892 first gasoline-powered tractor that propelled forward and backward, (known today as John Deere).

Visit Saturday & Sunday: A family owned and operated maple syrup production with more than 7,400 maple trees. Discover the organic flavor of maple and choose from a variety of maple made products.                                       

Visit Saturday & Sunday: Experience new technology within the dairy industry. See a robotic milking parlor where cows are milked by machines.                                               

Visit Saturday & Sunday: Meet the farm animals and learn how they help with the farm produce. Take a guided tour of a GPA-Certified chemical-free operation.  

Visit Saturday & Sunday: Tour a greenhouse that specializes in the hydroponic growing of vegetables and other plants.                         

Visit Sunday Only: A family-owned winery that offers award-winning vino. Enjoy the tasting room, New York City-style courtyard, and event room.

Visit Saturday & Sunday: Explore the goat barns, milking goats, bottle feed kids, and gather farm fresh eggs.        

  • Turkey River Farms Located in Elkport

Visit Saturday & Sunday: View fresh garden vegetables, homemade maple syrup, and heritage breed hogs on the pasture. Sample fresh veggies, meet the pigs, and purchase some maple syrup.
