Come One! Come All! Spillville Craft Show October 4th!

Peak fall foliage season will soon be upon us, making it a great time to drive to the picturesque town of Spillville with its rolling hills and beautiful bluffs to a large craft sale where you can also lunch on homemade chicken noodle soup with a Czech rollicky, hot chicken sandwiches, desert and even buy a couple dozen kolaches. mark your calendar to attend the Spillville Fall Arts & Crafts Festival is Saturday, October 4th at Spillville school gym from 9-3.

What a great way to start your holiday shopping while supporting local artists! Browse the large assortment of crafts from our talented crafters and special deals from our vendors. It’s not too early to think about holiday gift giving. There will be lots of vendors there with plenty of inventory for you to select from. Besides craft vendors, dealers on Mary Kay, Scentsy, Tastefully Simple, Tupperware, Usborne Books, It Works, Norwex, Initial Outfitters, Young Living besides and more will have special deals for just that day. Other craft items include sewn Items, decorated gourds, house plants, seasonal décor, wooden items and more. Many come back year after year to special talented crafters. One of those is DeLois Martin of Fayette who has some beautiful sewing work each year. Make sure you stop over at her booth, you'll thank me later for the tip! She does a wide variety of items that will be perfect to please those special p eople on your holiday list. Nothing says you spent time finding the right gift than giving homemade item you won't get in a store!

Make sure you stop in at new vendor Julie (Kuboushek) Smith with her beautiful vinyl craft creations done with words and also see the amazing glass works done with words by Georgia Klimesh. She is busy creating ornaments, special drink glasses and more with your favorite team name on. She will also do some specialty orders as you wait! She can take special orders and personalize a tile for you. Great gift idea! The St. Wenceslaus ladies will be selling kolaches by the dozen besides lunch. After shopping, stop in the school lunchroom for homemade chicken noodle soup, hot chicken sandwiches, rollicky (rolls), kolaches, and deserts. Take outs are also available. Your handmade purchases support the local economy as well as our gifted community of artists and profit St. Wenceslaus Church as well. Make a day of it and continue shopping at local artists during the Northeast Iowa Studio Tour which is also going on the weekend, look for signs to guide you to different artists in the area like Joyce Meyer Photography at 113 Dvorak Drive in Spillville. Pick up a brochure there to continue driving through the beautiful fall bluffs to see artists make jewelry, pottery, baskets, p hotography, paintings, fiber artwork, silversmith creations, fused glass art, and much more. What could be more fun than spending times with your family and friends traveling the rustic landscape of Northeast Iowa during peak fall foliage weekend?
