Fall is here! Kids love this season as Halloween is on its way. Families can celebrate pumpkin season with the hunt for the biggest pumpkin in Iowa. They can even try to weigh in some of their picked pumpkins for a chance to win exciting prizes.
Wilson's Orchard is great place for family fun in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. At Wilson's Orchard, kids can enjoy a tractor ride with their families. There are 120 varieties of apples at the orchard, as well. Starting from August until end of October, you can find various varieties of apples around the orchard and many selections are available at the same price.
During the month of October, you will find a variety of pumpkins here you can pick your own. They have several fields of pumpkins along the creek, with smallish pie pumpkins, mini pumpkins and the larger jack-o-lantern pumpkins.
The pumpkin festival at the Wilson's Orchard is quite famous in Iowa. The festival features a hunt for the biggest pumpkin to receive prizes. They have family and fun activities from 12 to 4 pm with some trailer rides. There are refreshments along way, including pumpkin donuts and hot mulled apple cider. While you are there, do not forget to check for fresh pressed apple cider that is on sale in gallons and half gallons. Every Wednesday during September and October, you can enjoy incredibly tasting fresh apple cider apples and donuts all day long. You can wear your Halloween costume out to the orchard during the season to receive a nice prize, too.
