Thanks to the success of its inaugural event, experimental arts fest Cattywampus in the Village is back this spring. Out-cool all of your friends and get a preview of the upcoming festival season with this event, which is billed as “one wild potpourri of music, art, and comedy!”
You know how hardcore baseball fans will go down to Florida for spring training? Cattywampus II is like spring training for the folks you’ll see on the festival circuit this summer. These performers have been inside all winter honing their sets, and now they’re ready to rock.
Nonnie Parry and Blue Movies return, while acts like Centaur Noir and Sid Yiddish and His Candy Store Henchmen will join the crowd at the Village Theatre in the Village of East Davenport. Doors are at 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, and the show lasts all night. Tickets are only $5.00 and parking is free! It doesn’t get any better than this.
Nick Mielke and Tony Cavallo have signed on for the comedy portion of the festival, with more surprise guests to come. A psychedelic light show provided by the Invisible Light Agency.
Cattywampus is another word for “askew,” and that’s what attendees can expect: a day of celebration of all that is new, exciting, and even strange. It’s exactly what you’re going to need in these early spring days – a break from gray skies and rain, and a taste of the summer to come.
