Head to the Monona City Park Friday night for a Walking Taco Supper from 6-8 p.m. Once you have enjoyed your tasty Walking Taco, how about participating in the Glow/Run Fun/Walk from 8-9 p.m? Get your glow headbands, bracelets, t-shirts and body/face paints to help support the local Monona Fire Department. Since you'll already be glowing, stick around for the Glow After Party to mingle with friends.
Start Saturday off with a pancake breakfast at the Community Center from 7-10 a.m. Enjoy delicious homemade pancakes with sweet maple syrup before the parade starts at 11 a.m. There will be festival food and drink available throughout the day. The beer tent will be open from noon to midnight.
This year’s theme for the parade is “All Trails Lead to Monona.” Bring your comfy lawn chairs for the opening ceremony and music by center stage in the park. If you enjoy a classic car/truck show or tractor show competition, come and vote on your favorite. If you prefer a game of BINGO, the community center is the place for you. You could have a little fun at the dress-up costume photo booth and have a 4x6 picture taken. If you're up for a mental challenge, try the trivia game booth! You can always participate in the bean bag tournament some added fun. Face painters will be on the scene, and Monona has a new event this year in the form of a Tractor Pull from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
How about the kids? There will be street chalk extravaganza, inflatable bounce house, and obstacle course, in addition to a dunk tank and carnival games like "Money Machine" and "Pie in the Face", "Cow Bag Toss" and "Shootin’ Gallery". The FREE sanctioned Kiddie Tractor Pull starts at 1 p.m.
