On April 13, Burlington will host the Beaster Bunny 5K Kids Run and Egg Hunt from 8am-10am. The event will include a variety of distances depending on age and awards will be given to the top female and male competitors.
Also on April 13, the 34 Raceway will host a Mt. Dew Kick-Start dirt-track race. This fun race is perfect for a family competition on the racetrack.
On May 18, you have the opportunity to participate in the Great River Bridge Race. This race opens the Great River Bridge to foot traffic while also taking you through the famous Snake Alley. On June 23, the Annual Burlington Youth Triathlon will take place at Dankwardt Park from 8am – 10:45am. With three different age groups, kids can bike, swim, and run their way to victory among varying distances.
West Burlington Flea Market
Throughout the spring, the Des Moines County Fairgrounds will host a local flea market. Bring your family for a full day of shopping through aisles of animals, tools, jewelry, antiques, and so much more. The event will take place on April 14, May 5, and June 9 from 6am – 2pm.
On April 12, PZAZZ! will sponsor the annual Great Tastes fundraiser in their Event Center ballroom from 6pm – 9:30pm. Come enjoy a 2-hour tasting of the area’s local beverage purveyors, an array of food by the PZAZZ! chef, live music, a silent auction, and a raffle all for $50.
Downtown Burlington will be the location for a fun-filled spring evening on April 26 from 5pm – 8pm. The Spring Sip, Taste, and Stroll will coordinate with downtown shops to host an outdoor event that comes with a commemorative glass and location map so that you don’t miss an activity happening at this downtown party.
Snake Alley Art Fair
The Snake Alley Art Fair is the largest fine arts fair in the region. On June 16, come to Burlington’s Snake Alley between 9am and 4pm to stroll through over 80 art vendors. There will be live music, family activities and great food scattered throughout the event. Experience historic Snake Alley in a new light.
