In the past year, we have seen a lot of changes in Iowa, especially in the city of Des Moines. Some restaurants have closed their doors, while others opened new locations. The city of Des Moines alone has added another 25 restaurants in its place, which include a new dumpling house and Brazilian steakhouses. Unfortunately, we can’t get into that long list of the new additions. That’s why we decided to pick only the top three new, must-see restaurants in the state of Iowa.
1. Gastro Grub Truck:
For food truck fare on steroids, this new Gastro Grub Truck is the place for you. Here, the Wagyu Burger is a popular item, along with De Burgo Poutine, a dish filled with creamy de Burgo sauce, cheese curds, apple gastrique, crispy fries, and a fresh-cut pork chop with garlic mashed potatoes.
Gastro Grub Truck features a glass-enclosed party space and a huge outdoor space. Its menu features locally-produced items and meats, and there's a cocktail menu that also focuses on Iowa products. These include craft beers like the Peanut Butter Cup Porter from Lake Time Brewery and you can check their website for more about their wine list. And last, but certainly not least, Gastro Grub Truck also features live music!

2. BAH Brazilian Steakhouse:
Come to the BAH Brazilian Steakhouse to enjoy a complete Churrasco dining experience, complete with a wide variety of specially-prepared meat cuts and fired grilled meats. This newly opened dining place also serves exciting Gourmet salad bar along with fish dishes and desserts. All of these exciting meals will be brought to your table by a group of Brazilian cowboys or gauchos.
Location/Address: 2301 Ingersoll Avenue Des Moines
3. Truman's KC Pizza Tavern:
This new pizza house is the latest addition in the fast-growing cap of the local Full Court Press restaurant and bar. Like its well-established cousins, Truman’s KC Pizza Tavern has managed to thrive and succeed in the market. Dining is awesome, its gleaming wood paneling and well-crafted leather booth make it like a sports-crazed family home. Overall, its top choice for meeting college friends, relatives and partners.
