Strawberry Days in Strawberry Point rock! Here's why. Start off with a scenic drive in Clayton County to Strawberry Point, Iowa to Celebrate 50 years of Strawberry Days on Friday, June 7, 2019, through Sunday, June 9, 2019.
Friday night starts off with games in Inger Park from 6 to 10 pm. Enjoy a family fun night with the kiddie parade and contest. It will be fun to see the kids smile proudly as they parade around in a contest. The Crowning of Lil’ Mr. and Miss. Strawberry, plus Teen Strawberry, is always an exciting moment. I wonder who it will be this year! Have a little fun with the family and play a game of Family Feud/Improv Show, then sit under the stars to watch a movie.
You can start off early Saturday morning with a 5K walk/run in Campbell Park at 8 am. Feel the fresh morning air fill your lungs, see the morning dew on the green grass, and hear the birds tweet a song. My favorite part of Strawberry Days is the parade. It will start at 11 am. So gather your lawn chair when you come to Strawberry Point, Iowa and pick a spot along the parade route. You will notice the community spirit light up with the display of American flags carried by our honorable veterans, hearing the Starmont Band playing tunes, the lights and sirens of the firetrucks and ambulances, and the floats of community groups throwing candy for the kids.
After the parade, walk over to the carnival from 12-4 pm at the Civic Center grounds. Come to enjoy rides, games, a water slide (to cool off with), a peddle tractor pull, bag tournament, a caricature artist, and FREE strawberries and ice-cream, while supplies last. You can visit the local shops and find something new.
Take time to try out Strawberries local restaurants Like Back Home Country Cookin’, The Franklin, and Country Rose Café. Enjoy at delicious hamburger and fries, or fried chicken and baked sweet potato – it’s all good in Strawberry Point. In the evening, a local musician, Beau Timmerman, will be performing at 5:30 pm and 3rd Offense from 6-10 pm. For the adults, the beer garden will be open.
On Sunday, back by popular demand, is the truck and tractor pull, starting at 11 A.M at Campbell Park. Come cheer on your favorite truck (Chevy, Ford, Dodge), tractor (red or green), or semi. Bring your sun hats, sunglasses, and lawn chairs for an afternoon of pulling. FREE strawberries and ice-cream will be available while supplies last at 11:30 am.
We can't wait to celebrate 50 years of Strawberry Point, this June 7-9 with Strawberry Days.
