Your feedback means a lot to us at The Travel Iowa Blog!
One of the major requests we've received over the years has been for a simplification of the voting process. Our bloggers need votes to get "voted up" to the homepage, and often ask if we can make it easier for their friends, family, and fans to vote, without having to register or login.
Your wish is our command. Anyone can now vote on Blog.TravelIowa.com, whether or not they're logged in as a site user!
Here's how it works:
1.) Anyone can vote for any article once.
2.) Votes registered by logged in users still "weigh" more than votes from those of general users. This is because we still want to encourage authentication of votes, & discourage potential vote shenanigans.
*What does that mean? It means that our post promotion algorithm will still consider votes from authenticated site users more valuable when tallying whose work hits the top of the homepage. So, while all votes count, bloggers will still want to encourage their friends, family, and fans to login to vote if/when possible. Registering and logging in can be done in a snap. All folks need is a Facebook or Gmail account.
3.) We continue to monitor votes and respond to your feedback. We'll continue to monitor the site in the spirit of community and to consider your feedback and user experience in everything we do. Questions, comments, or requests? Shoot us an email, at Social@Iowa.gov. We love to hear from you!
Happy blogging, reading, and voting!
