Valentine’s Day is the perfect setting for romantic dinners or a weekend get-away.
Incorporated in 1941, the beautiful Windsor Heights District of Des Moines is the setting for a romantic dinner at Baru 66, a French Bistro. Baru 66 Restaurant is the result of a long-awaited dream of Chef David Baruthio. The chef grew up and received his culinary training in Strasbourg, France. His mentor and instructor is the well-known Master Chef Hubert Meatz. He has opened and managed restaurants and hotels in Belgium, Beverly Hills, Nepal, Switzerland and the UK. He eventually followed his heart and now offers his culinary talents to Des Moines citizens and visitors.
Reservations for the evening of February 14th should be placed in advance via Open Table online reservation service. Especially for Valentine’s Day, Chef Baruthio has prepared the Baru’s Love Affair Menu. The menu consists of a three-course option for $65.00 per person or a six-course option for $125.00 per person. Reviews from former guests promise a meal to delight the taste buds.
The upscale, classy, modern atmosphere lends itself to a perfect date night. Conversation flows easily in the relaxed setting as diners enjoy the unique flavors of beautifully prepared dishes. The large wine list and friendly waiters contribute to the overall experience. Although French portions are small, the number of courses assures diners leave well satisfied.
The white table cloths and artfully set tablescape design adds to the ambiance of the restaurant. The china and other serving pieces were well chosen for the setting. The upholstered gray chairs are attractive and comfortable.
