Take A Bite: The Amana Colonies 4 Day Food Festival

Take a bite.  What an invitation!  It’s generally said when a friend has offered you a sample of something delicious-- something they want to share with you.  Maybe it’s something new that you’ve never tried before. Or, it could be an old favorite. Regardless, it’s always a wonderful invitation.  That is exactly what the Amana Colonies are offering April 14th through the 17th as they host a new event.

“Take A Bite: A Four Day Food Festival is a combination of old Amana Colonies food favorites and some new dishes.  It is an event that any foodie will be crazy about. The event features seminars, hands-on demonstrations, special foods to sample and purchase, along with special dinners.  It will be four days of foodie fun from our old friends in the Amana Colonies.

Special seminars include coffee, beer, wine, charcuterie, and beef to name a few, while hands-on demonstrations will offer instructions on making bread, pasta, mozzarella, and bacon treats.  There will be  flavors of fudge, a variety of pizzas, and German specialties to sample, not to mention five unique dining experiences to choose from, including:

  • Afternoon Tea
  • A Vintner’s Dinner
  • A Brewer’s Dinner a
  • Two traditional Amana communal meals

If you love to eat you’ll need to travel to the Amana Colonies this April and “Take A Bite.
