Get Splashy at Lost Island Water Park in Waterloo

If you’re looking for a great fun family day out in Iowa this summer, check out the Lost Island Water Park in Waterloo.  There are attractions for adults, older kids and little ones, too.  It’s a brilliant way to spend a sunny summer day!

Splash down fun!

There are nine different water slides requiring varying degrees of daring.  There is a whole plethora of ways of getting well and truly wet including roller coasters, rapids and a heart-stopping falls ride.  For those seeking something a little gentler, there’s a lagoon complete with tsunami wave machine.  Seniors and adults with small children will enjoy a lazy trip down the Kailahi River attraction in an inflatable, or you could just relax and bask in the warm sunshine beside the water.

For little kids there are several gentle attractions including a lagoon and mini water slide.  (Note that little ones are required to wear swim diapers in the water.)

Outside the Lost Island Water Park

When you’ve had enough of getting wet, there’s plenty to do outside the park.  You could while away an hour or two playing arcade games, pool, or adventure golf.  If you still want more excitement, how about go-karting?  If you’re brave enough, you could ride the longest zip line in Iowa.  The Flying Gecko Zipline is over 660 feet long, and starts from an eye-watering height of 65 feet!  You must be 10 years old or over, and must weigh between 70 and 250 pounds to ride the Zipline.

The nearby KOA Campground offers a great camping experience.  There are 50 camp sites, tent sites and fully accessible deluxe lodge accommodation.  Home comforts include Wi-Fi, laundry facilities and a convenience store.  There’s a recreation trail to enjoy on foot or by hire bike, together a 17 acre lake with a beach where you can fish or sail paddle boats.

Full details of everything on offer including rates and opening times are available on the website.
