Santa Paws is Coming to Town!

Planning on sending out Christmas Cards this year with your pet front and center? Consider waiting to make your order for your chance to have your furry buddy take its picture with Santa Paws! The Kossuth Animal Rescue is once again hosting their annual Santa Paws event at Pet Kingdom in Algona, Iowa, on November 22. For a donation of $10, your pet can sit with Santa Claus while photographer Paige Baade snaps away. You will be emailed your final edited photo for ease of sharing with the world in whatever media form you choose.

All pets are welcome from 9:30am - 12:00pm. They accept cash, check, and new this year, credit or debit cards. Pet Kingdom is located at 117 E State St, Algona, IA.

A few days later, also in Algona, is the Chamber of Commerce’s annual Live Greeting Card Window Display on Monday, November 24. Businesses’ s windows on downtown State Street come alive from 6:30 - 8:00pm with animated holiday scenes sponsored by local organizations and businesses. Selected businesses will stay open later offering special deals along with hot chocolate and cider. Adding to the charm of the old-fashioned-esque kickoff holiday event will be horse-drawn wagon rides and strolling entertainment with the local barbershoppers belting out Christmas carols. To help start your evening, be sure to swing by the Methodist Church for a fundraiser hosted by the Kossuth County Care Team with tacos-for-tot’s from 4:30 - 7:00pm.

To continue helping out the Kossuth Animal Rescue, stop by their bake-sale fundraiser located in Milestone Images that evening. The sale will be just in time to bring goodies to your Thanksgiving festivities that week.

Kossuth Animal Rescue is a group of volunteers raising money for a shelter in the Kossuth County area. Their ultimate goal is to raise enough money through donations, fundraisers, grants, and the adoptions of animals to eventually build a much needed shelter in Kossuth County. Kossuth County is one of the largest counties in Iowa, yet there is no shelter. Organized in 1997, the Kossuth Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership, finding homes for lost, abused, and unwanted pets, promoting the humane treatment of animals through education, and advocating pet population control.
