Overcoming Obstacles with the Iron Track Challenge 5K in Osceola

Are you tired of participating in just another 5k?  Do you want some challenges to your active lifestyle and a chance to push yourself beyond the norm?  Then, you need to take part in Osceola Chamber Main Street's Iron Track Challenge!

On Saturday, September 16th, the Iron Track Challenge Obstacle Course 5k will take place at Q-Pond Park in Osceola. The run will be a mix of hard surface and mown pathways with obstacles to help challenge the runner to dig deeper and work harder to attain the winning time and prize. Registration starts at 7 am, with the run at 8 am. An after-run recharge meal will be provided by Homestead Assisted Living.

You can register in advance by going to our Registration page. If you register by August 31st, you get a t-shirt (in addition to the other swag) and the entry fee is only $15. Registrations after August 31st are $20.  (T-shirts are limited by quantity after the August 31st deadline).

The fun doesn't stop that morning either! The trails were built by the City of Osceola, in conjunction with Osceola Chamber Main Street's Sportsman's Banquet. Money from the fundraising event helped to fund the paved portions of the trails. And on Saturday, September 16th, we are ready to begin our next project!

The Sportsman's Banquet is a fun-filled night of dinner, games, raffles, and auctions at the Clarke County Fairgrounds. Doors open at 4 pm with the dinner at 5 pm and the auctions starting at 5:30 pm. Tickets are $20 per person ($30 for two) and $5 for kids 12 and under. Bottomless cups good for beer and soda pop are part of your entry fee and are good until 8 pm.

After the Sportsman's Banquet, we have a great concert in store: The Rumley Brothers will be performing from 8 pm to midnight on stage at the Fairgrounds. If you purchased a ticket to the Sportsman's Banquet, you get to stay for free. If you come just for the concert, it's $10 per person at the door.

This is a fun-filled day of activities and ways to help grow the community. Proceeds from the event are going to help fund the new Osceola Recreation Center. We hope to see you there!
