It's (almost) July in Iowa - which means it's time to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather with friends and family! Add these five can’t-miss events to your calendar!
1. North Liberty Blues & BBQ, North Liberty (July 7-8)
This family-friendly event, now in its 11th year, features regional blues music all day long and free admission. The festival also includes arts-inspired activities for kids, craft beers for adults and mouth-watering barbecue for everyone.
2. 64th Annual Black Hawk Lake Summer Water Carnival, Lake View (July 14-16)
A street parade, art in the park, beer garden, mud volleyball tournament, Little Miss Black Hawk Pageant, live music, fireworks and a parade of floats on the water provide a weekend full of activity.
3. J40 Farm Crawl, Keosauqua (July 22)
Spend the day enjoying farm tours, local artists, wineries, wagon rides, an Amish School breakfast, glass blowing, homemade ice cream and more in Van Buren County.
4. RAGBRAI, statewide (July 23-29)
The oldest, largest and longest bicycle touring event in the world covers 400+ miles across the state. Each year the ride starts at the Missouri River and ends at the Mississippi River with a different route in between. This year's overnight towns are Orange City, Spencer, Algona, Clear Lake, Charles City, Cresco, Waukon and Lansing.
5. National Balloon Classic, Indianola (July 28-August 5)
Nearly 100 hot air balloons paint the sky with brilliant colors and playful shapes during the nine-day event. Visitors enjoy live music and watching skilled pilots compete for points and prizes.
