Lest Lear's heavy themes get you down, the bucolic grounds at Salisbury House – on which the production takes place – offers a lovely counterpoint to the tragedy unfolding onstage.
Worried about mosquitoes and other pesky insects? Fear not! We take our cue from Lear’s Gloucester:
As flies to wanton boys, are we to the gods, — They kill us for their sport...
and spray the grounds for bugs in advance of the performances.
Pack your wine spritzers and snacks! You may bring in your own refreshments, and food and drink will also be offered for sale. Lawn chairs and picnic blankets are welcomed in designated areas as well, in addition to the seating provided onsite.
