Join us on Sunday, August 27th from 2pm-8pm at the Clarke County Fairgrounds and help us celebrate the Hispanic culture in style! From great food to great music to great cultural exhibitions, this is the best time to help celebrate the Hispanic culture and learn more about the great benefits it adds to our community.
All of the main events will be in the arena on Sunday with the following schedule:
2 pm: Jovenes Embajadores folk dancing
2:30 pm: Chuckwagon races (More on this below)
3 pm: Jovenes Embajadores folk dancing
3:30 pm: Watermelon contest for kids/Sombrero contest for adults
4 pm: Rancho El Carretero y Escaramuza las Zacatecanas y Zacatecanas infantil Dancing Horse Troupe
6 pm: Clarke County 4-H Horse & Rider Horse Exhibition
6 pm: La Escencia de la Banda de Joey Camarillo
6:30 pm: Sack Races/Pinatas
The chuckwagon races are a good way to have some fun and even earn some money! Teams of four will compete by racing their chuckwagon back and forth across the arena in a timed format. The winner will be the team that has the fastest time overall. Prizes will be awarded for 1st place ($80) and 2nd place ($40). There's so much more! Throughout the entire event, there will be vendors (food and otherwise), kid games, a bounce house, a mechanical bull, and pony rides! The fee is $5 for entry into the Latino Festival for ages 6 and older, and 5 and under are free. The ONLY part of the festival that this fee does not cover is food and pony rides.
