Fall Family Fun at the Harvest Barn in Osceola

Fall is a fantastic time of year.  It's starting to cool off after the rigorous days of summer with the intense heat and humidity.  The leaves on the trees are starting to change color from green to beautiful hues of orange, red, yellow, and more.  Children are back in school and enjoying things like hot chocolate, apple cider, Halloween planning, and more.  It's a great time of year to celebrate in general, but even more so when you have great places to enjoy it with people you love.

For southern Iowa, there is no better place to celebrate your love of fall than with the Harvest Barn in Osceola, Iowa.  The Harvest Barn was opened in 2001 in a restored, original 1930s hip-roofed milking barn.  The marketplace opened first selling fresh produce and country-inspired gifts.  Two years later, the Harvest Barn debuted what would make it the "Go to" location of the fall when they added a pumpkin patch, corn maze, and fun farm.

Outside the store itself is the greatest variety of family fun you can find anywhere!  There is a zip line, dodgeball, human foosball (new in 2016), duck races, sack races, glow mini golf, and more! There is a hay barn where kids can jump around and slide down slides as well as a silo where kids can sit inside and play with corn kernels. There are animals to feed, more hay bales to climb, human hamster ball, a combine to play on, and a giant slide for kids to enjoy, and more!  On the weekends, join the Boyer family as they take guests on a tractor ride around the farm and see how many scarecrows you can spot hiding along the route!  Even though the outside portion is only open through Halloween, there is a LOT of time to get in and have fun!  (Please note that the Harvest Barn is currently closed on Monday and Tuesday).

Inside the Harvest Barn, there is a wondrous display of products from beef sticks, cheeses, wines, decorations, fudges, and more!  The Harvest Barn also makes specialty boxes that you can give out as great gifts for any time of year too.  Plus, the market is open until December so you can get last-minute gifts in or online so you can order what you need from the comfort of your home!

This season if you have one place you need to go for a dose of fall family fun, look no further than the Harvest Barn in Osceola.
