Coralville is conducting their 34th annual Aisle of Lights Festival that includes many free events throughout the day. The aim of the event is to create a magical night light view across the streets through candles known as luminaria. Luminaria are comprised of a white paper bag containing a votive candle and filled with sand to hold it down. All the residents and business in the Coralville area are encouraged to enjoy the light glow, and participate in the event by placing luminaria in front of their house on the sidewalk.
You could take a free bus tour to see the Aisle of lights on the same day. The tour starts from the City Hall beginning at 5:15 pm until 8:15 pm. The bus tour is open to the public and there is a tour every 45 minutes.
There are various events happening during this festival including entertainment by Coralville Center for the Performing Arts and New Horizons United Methodist Church. Children's activities throughout the evening are supported and conducted by the University of Iowa Community Credit Union.
