Adventure Awaits on the Mississippi River in Clayton County

The mighty, majestic and monumental Mississippi River flows down from Minnesota, along the border of Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri. It hits the edges of Tennessee, Kentucky, and Arkansas, and finally winds along through Mississippi and out to sea through Louisiana. The history and adventures of this river are endless, and you can experience it all in Clayton County!

Sure, you can cross the Mississippi River on a bridge, but what fun is that?! The Cassville Car Ferry offers a unique way to continue your travels while being able to enjoy the sights and sounds of the river in a more close up way. The ferry can transport bicycles, motorcycles, cars, vans, trucks, tour and school buses, semis and even you on your own two feet! The ferry travels back and forth between Cassville, Wisconsin and Millville, , just south of Guttenberg. The ferry rungThe Landing 615 located in Guttenberg offers barge fishing, boat rentals and much more! They will shuttle you with all your gear to their fishing barge which is located in a hot spot for fishing. Spend your day casting and reeling in your prized catches or relax and lay in the sun on one of their boats or pontoons that are available for rent.

The fun continues with three unique river charters from Captain Robert, Captain Joe, and Captain Dennis!

Captain Robert and Maiden Voyage Tours will take you on a group tour, the Tom Sawyer Adventure, Friday Night Music Cruise, or Bird Eco Tour on their 49 passenger Coast Guard approval vessel!

Captain Joe, who is a licensed Master Captain by the Coast Guard, a licensed guide with the Wisconsin DNR and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, has over 40 years’ experience on the Mississippi River. Take up to six people on his Mississippi River Charters for either a sightseeing tour or a fishing charter.

Last but not least, spend a day with Coast Guard licensed Captain Dennis and 10 Dam! Fish. With a lifetime of fishing and navigational experience, let Captain Dennis customize a trip for you, or go on one of his tours which include a full or half day fishing, wildlife and river history, leisure river rides or sunset cruises.

The adventures are endless on the Mississippi River and in Clayton County!

Be sure to check with each adventure as to when they are open for the season!
