Family Fun in Burlington

As a grandmother of NINE fun-loving grandchildren, I spend lots of time going to birthday parties and buying the latest and greatest princess and super hero toys.  As I turned over the calendar to the New Year I decided to approach these birthday celebrations a little differently.  Instead of wrapping up a gift, I will let each of my grandchildren unwrap an experience and make a new memory.

Three of the nine grandchildren celebrated their birthdays in the month of January.  So to start this new tradition Grandpa and I hosted five of the nine grandchildren in Burlington and visited the new Ballocity, Skytrail, and SkyTykes attraction at FunCity.  The children ranged from two to six years of age and there was something for all of them.  The six year old loved the SkyTykes.  The four year old spent most of the day in the ball area where you can put balls into different machines and they would spit them back out.  The two year olds were entertained in the little tykes’ area going down slides and climbing through an obstacle course area. Even the grown-ups had a blast going down the big wavy slide!

The entire Ballocity, SkyTrail, and SkyTykes area is caged in with only one place to enter and exit which gave us grown-ups some piece of mind and made it easier to keep an eye on the children.

After many hours of fun at Ballocity we ordered pizza and had ice cream at Gasoline Allie’s. The two older kids then enjoyed playing in the Arcadium area.

If you need a little winter getaway or maybe are making plans for spring break, I highly recommend you plan a visit to Burlington. It’s definitely “grandmother approved” and I know the kids have placed their stamp of approval on it too!

I am looking forward to many more years of giving experiences and making new memories.
